Yeah i agree because the physical exercise what atheltes do only benefits creating new muscles but had to go threw pain to do that and destory cells in the process but with energy cultivation or meditation exercise your creating new cells and referbishing the body making the body feel good.
I personally agree with the Taoist who thinks that both the mind and the body must be exercised. Improving one without the other is not a good idea. Concerning the physical side of things, my humble opinion is the following.
IF you plan to do energy work, it is extremely important to do stretching/yoga, and if possible some kind of muscular training. The reason for me is that if you're muscle are bigger/harder they will be able to channel chi more effectively and at higher intensities. For the stretching part. If you're muscles and tendons are supple they can handle energy spikes/overloads better, and last, but definitely not least. If feel that if you stretch correctly, that is by doing things slowly, and taking the time to feel your fibers stretching. It help your brain connect to your body, sort of, (besides making your spine more supple in the case of most yoga exercises, which obviously helps a lot of things, but I feel a lot of people miss the other reason I just stated concerning the reason for Yoga stretching exercises)
I personally feel a difference when I do Yoga/stretching exercises before meditating and when I don't.
That is my idea, maybe I'm wrong. I am curious to have other opinions on this matter.
